Running In The Wild: Side-Scrolling Game

Unity Learn Create with Code: 2020

Quest Objective
Program a fast-paced endless side-scrolling runner game where the player needs to time jumps over oncoming obstacles to avoid crashing.

In creating this prototype with Unity learn, I've learnt how to add music, sound effects, create dynamic endless repeating backgrounds and how to incorporate particle effects like splatters and explosions.

Programs Used
Unity Engine, Visual Studios 2017 (C#), Unity Asset Store

Speed Ninja (In Development)

Unity Learn Create with Code (personal project): 2020

Quest Objective
Design and create a minimum viable product (MVP), using the knowledge obtained from working on previous prototypes in the course.

I started the quest by creating a Design Document, this provided details on how the game would look, feel and play.

Following my document, I'm am going through the journey of game development with creating primitive shapes in Unity and implementing the proper working C# programming code. I will then test the game mechanics, polish the game design and export an MVP. The game is still in development and currently on hold.

2D and 3D Unreal Game Project

University of Lethbridge, Game Production Projects: Fall 2016

Quest Objective
Create a game based on the objects the professor supplied with the theme of the presidential election in the US and the second project was to create a sandbox game with only visual cues to drive the player through the story of the film.

This video outlines the process I went through in making our team 2D parody game, Trump Saves Christmas and our 3D Conjuring sandbox game. In the first project, I developed the game design, level designs and built the platforms for each level in Unreal.

My contribution to the 3D sandbox game was working out the sequence of gameplay events in the basement, the creation of some simple 3D objects with textures to fill the space, set-up the scene and mapped out the player triggers.

Programs Used
Adobe Photoshop, 3D Max, Unreal Engine
